Maker faire UPA

Makerfair - Saturday, March 14, 2026, held at UPA Four team members showcased our robot, demonstrated its features and build/programming process, spoke with kids, families, and other attendees, promoted FIRST and FTC, encouraged interest in robotics and STEM, and reached a broad audience with particular impact on younger children.
Evergreen Valley College Community Event

At Evergreen Valley College, we engaged with approximately ~150 of people of all ages, including professors, parents, college and school students. We promoted our Summer Workshop by distributing flyers. We brought our decode game robot and the game arena for a fun hands-on driving experience. Additionally, we learned about the coding and engineering programs offered at Evergreen Valley College and how they relate to robotics.
STEM Zone - Santa Clara Convention

USS Hornet STEM Event
STEM Zone at Santa Clara Convention, our team interacted with ~200 attendees to share information about FTC and FIRST, connect with FTC teams, reach out to college teams and the SJSU robotics club, and spark interest in robotics among younger children by guiding them toward FTC and FLL opportunities. The team also explored AI and robotics topics during the event.

USS Hornet STEM Event, our team interacted with ~160 people who visited our stall, where we shared information about FTC and FIRST, connected with many First teams, and helped spark interest in robotics among younger kids by directing them to FTC and FLL opportunities. We also spoke with the MechaMantises FTC Team #19862 and the Berkilum FRC Team #5419.
FTC Club and 6th Grade Orientation

FTC Club and 6th Grade Orientation at Chaboya Middle School, Q3 2025–2026. Around five class sessions were held. During lunch meetings, students learned about CAD and robot building, came in to participate, and had the opportunity to drive the robot. We also addressed batches of a few hundred students during the middle school orientation at Chaboya Middle School.
Civic Futures Summit D8

Evergreen Tech-a-trons was honored to participate in the first-ever Civic Futures Summit hosted by the San Jose District 8 Youth Council Committee. We showcased our robotics, STEM education, and community outreach initiatives while connecting with other inspiring youth-led organizations. It was a great opportunity to engage in discussions on youth leadership and community impact. Thank you to the District 8 Youth Council Committee and council member Domingo candelas for organizing this meaningful event!
Senior Center at Ivy Park

At Evergreen Tech-a-trons, we believe STEM has no age limit. Our team was delighted to visit Ivy Park Senior Living, where we introduced our robot, played interactive games, and explored how robotics is transforming everyday life. From inspiring young students to engaging senior citizens, we are committed to making robotics fun, accessible, and meaningful for every generation. Seeing the residents laugh, learn, and invite us back was a wonderful reminder that technology has the power to connect people of all ages.
Senior Center at Merril Gardens

Evergreen Tech-a-trons had a fantastic visit to Merrill Gardens in Willow Glen, where we introduced our robot to nine seniors through fun games like Bowling, Jeopardy, and RoboSorting. Despite a few technical challenges, our team adapted quickly and created an engaging, memorable experience filled with laughter and prizes. The residents warmly invited us back, reinforcing our mission to make robotics fun, accessible, and meaningful for every generation.
Tom Matsumoto Spring Carnival

Our team was excited to showcase our FTC robot at the Tom Matsumoto Spring Carnival, inspiring elementary school students through hands-on robotics. Students from 1st through 6th grade explored and drove our robot while learning about its design and engineering. We also spoke with parents about FIRST Robotics, FLL, and our summer robotics program, helping families discover STEM opportunities for every age. It was a rewarding day of sparking curiosity and inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Workshop & Training
Robotics Summer Workshop Session -1

We conducted a week-long summer robotics workshop for eight aspiring young engineers, introducing them to the fundamentals of coding, CAD design, and robot building. Through hands-on sessions and exciting FIRST Robotics challenges, students developed technical skills while exploring the importance of teamwork, creativity, and community outreach. Participants tackled build challenges, created outreach ideas, and enthusiastically presented their solutions, gaining a deeper understanding of robotics both on and off the field.
Robotics & Pneumatics Workshop

Evergreen Tech-a-trons hosted a Pneumatics Workshop in collaboration with FRC Prototypes, engaging students and community members in learning about robotics technology. Our team introduced the FIRST program, explained the FTC-to-FRC transition, and shared insights into robotics pathways and opportunities. A guest speaker shared how his FTC experience helped shape his future career, inspiring participants to pursue STEM. Through hands-on activities using the pneumatics kit, attendees learned the fundamentals of pneumatic systems and their applications in robotics.
Robotics Summer Workshop Session - 2

We conducted a week-long summer robotics workshop second session for six young engineers, introducing them to the fundamentals of coding, CAD design, and robot building. Through hands-on activities and engaging FIRST Robotics challenges, students developed technical skills while learning the importance of teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and community outreach. Participants tackled engineering and build challenges, developed innovative outreach ideas, and enthusiastically presented their solutions, gaining a deeper understanding of robotics both on and off the field.
Mentoring
FTC Mentoring

Evergreen Tech-a-trons had the opportunity to mentor FTC #31921 Botzilla team by supporting their programming efforts and sharing our experience with robot localization. During our first mentoring session, we worked with their odometry coding team and discussed key concepts including odometry initialization, PedroPathing integration, odometry offsets, and troubleshooting localization errors. We look forward to continuing our collaboration and connecting with their Limelight team in a future session to further support their robotics journey.
